Laser-based advanced sensors for early detection of CBRNE threats
The development of remote sensors using LIBS offers the ability to detect traces of explosives at significant distances from the target, while the portability of these systems makes possible the inspection of samples in the real world. Raman-LIBS sensor fusion strategies, which generate qualitative and structural information of the compound of interest, offer the possibility of discrimination and diagnosis of a wide range of materials. Among these, organic and inorganic explosives and materials such as metals, textiles, plastics and glass. This technology offers the possibility of line-of-sight inspection of harmful and other complex materials at distances between 1 m and 100 m.
